My kids have attended skyline music for a couple of years and have really enjoyed their experience here. Míša is a wealth of knowledge and very patient, tuning into the unique needs of my kids who learn very differently! Lessons are tailored to interest or for academic achievement if traditional levels are desired – flexibility we appreciate. All of the instructors are helpful, pleasant and very skilled and we look forward to the winter and spring student showcase as well as the thoughtful tea and coffee for waiting parents. Best piano teacher ever! Lisa makes learning music fun. She teaches all three of our kids and is always very accommodating to our needs. She’s really in tune with each one of our kids strengths and weaknesses and they are making lots of progress. Plus she arranges rehearsals at a local theatre multiple times a year where the kids get to play on a steinway grand piano in front of an audience.

Skyline Music Studio has taught and produced many talented musicians, ranging from pianists and guitarists, to vocalists and drummers. All the teachers are very devoted to ensuring the students’ success and are always pushing them to do their best. The studio holds a recital/concert twice a year to provide an opportunity for the students to showcase their musical abilities and what they have achieved/learned throughout the year. Aside from these recitals, students also have the option to pursue exams and follow the Royal Conservatory of Music, allowing them to play a diverse range of pieces and work on their technical skill. Students who do not wish to follow the Royal Conservatory of Music and want to play for the love of music are taught the basics and learn at their own pace, working on songs of interest. The teachers at the studio work very hard to make sure the students are up to date with the current curriculum and that they meet the acceptable standard. However, putting standards and expectations aside, the teachers also encourage students to play simply to enjoy music and are given choices when choosing what pieces they want to play. Learning is not rushed however guidelines are provided for the students to follow. At the end of the day, Skyline Music Studio shows that music is to be loved, enjoyed, and shared, by everyone, no matter their age or skill level.

I have been a student of Lisa’s for around 17 years now, and it has been just an amazing experience. Lisa is such a thoughtful, kind, respectful, and motivating piano teacher, and she has always made my piano lessons a highlight of my week, from when I was a young pianist just starting to learn, to being an adult student now (and a piano teacher for 3 years myself!). From taking RCM exams to learning pop songs, she has always made the experience of learning very fun. The environment at Skyline Music is very welcoming and cozy, and is the perfect place for a student of any age to take lessons. The rooms are always very clean and well-supplied, and she has hot drinks and candies available for people in the waiting room. Every year, she has a winter recital and a summer recital at the Polaris Theatre in Airdrie, that has a beautiful grand piano for students to play on. I have had the pleasure of meeting many of the other teachers at Skyline, and can say confidently that they are just as sweet and talented as Lisa is! I would highly recommend anyone interested in starting their music journey or their child’s music journey to go to Skyline Music!!

I’ve been a student at Skyline Music Studio for the past 10 years and it’s been one of the most meaningful parts of my life!

I started learning piano at the age of seven with Lisa, and she has been the most wonderful teacher ever. She is incredibly supportive, inspiring, and patient. From day one I always felt motivated to learn piano because of her, and every single week I would look forward to piano class no matter how difficult piano was sometimes. Being a student at Skyline Music Studio not only helped me develop strong techniques as a pianist, but it also gave me so many opportunities to grow as a performer, through recitals, workshops, and festivals! These events were always fun and extremely helpful for building confidence on stage, playing in front of an audience, and preparing for upcoming exams.

I recently completed my Level 10 RCM for piano in August, and the preparation for this exam was probably one of my most stressful out of all the exams I took because I was balancing piano with high school. However, Lisa was incredibly understanding and helpful and we created a system that worked for me and my schedule, allowing me to complete Level 10 and receive ARCT eligibility!

In addition, I completed all the levels for RCM Music Theory at Skyline Music Studio with teachers Lisa and Mariah. Lisa taught me up to Level 8 and Mariah taught the remaining Level 9, 10 and ARCT Theory! When I just started music theory, I would be so lost in the homework and constantly struggling to understand. I thought I could never complete the highest level. However, having teachers like them really motivated and pushed me to keep trying, and I eventually accomplished my goals!

I am so grateful and lucky that I had my music journey at Skyline Music Studio. The teachers are so encouraging and inspiring. I would highly recommend to start your music journey here!

As an adult music student, coming back to piano and lessons after a 20+ year hiatus, I was unsure what I would remember from my past lessons and how quickly I would pick up past skills. Turns out that with the right teacher (shout out to Lisa), it is kind of like riding a bike. My daughter, suffering from a new piano teacher every year at every studio she attended, and clearly lacking teacher consistency when it is desperately needed at the upper RCM levels, came to Skyline Music Studio on recommendation from a friend. The transformation was instant! Lisa took her under her wing and straightened out my daughter’s RCM Level 7 issues that the last teacher could not get past. All the theory was caught up in one summer and completed with stellar marks. Within 2.5 years, my daughter is now testing RCM Level 10 this summer! Her previous RCM exams were stellar as well. Lisa’s magnetic, up-beat, positive personality is felt by all; she breaths the love of music, positive reinforcement and desire for achievement into every lesson so kids want to practice for her. Sheila, her partner, is the icing on top of the duo team, the secret weapon every studio needs for every level of RCM, or playing in general. As a technical master, she has spent time with my daughter adding the final, finicky touches to the music and RCM testing requirements that make the difference between that 89% and 90% examination mark. Skyline is a rare studio where music, a life long skill, will flourish and be loved by the student rather than be hated or dreaded.

I went to Skyline Music for 10 years and I wish I could’ve continued for longer. My experience with them was so positive that when they announced they’d be moving from Calgary to Airdrie, I followed them out there (along with many other students). Every single instructor is so kind and positive and they always keep the element of fun in learning an instrument (even down to the themed rooms) which is crucial. Something I always looked forward to was the Summer and Christmas recitals as it gave me the opportunity to perform which I fell in love with. They’re worth the trip out to Airdrie and have so much to offer!

I have three children and all Lisa’s students. The oldest have taken lessons with her for 15 years since Yamaha. She has achieved 91% in level 9 History ( she has the first class honours with distinction ) and currently in Level 9 piano of Royal conservatory.
